What does the Reel Capacity Calculator do?

Basic Hose Reels are designed to carry large range of different gauge and length hoses. They may be used as garden hose reels, fire hose reels, air hose reels, water hose reels and a raft of industrial hose reel uses. So it is important to work out which hose reel is suited to your needs.

The calculator is theoretical capacity. They are many reasons why actual capacity may vary - such as not winding the hose neatly onto the reel, kinks in the hose, stiffness of the hose being wound onto the reel, residual pressure left in the hose, etc. We strongly recommend that if the reel is close to the limit indicated by the calculator that you move up to the next size.

How to use Reel Capacity Calculator

The figures down the left hand side are the outside dimension of the hose you intend to use on the hose reel. This is in millimetres (mm). The figures on the right are how much hose can be fitted onto each particular hose reel (noting again that it is theoretical) in metres. When you get to the length you want at the particular gauge, go up to the top line and see which hose reel series suits. You can click on the hose reel type to get more information.
